Tesco is actually selling jars of Custard Cream spread

Custard Cream filling. To spread on toast.

DON’T PANIC EVERYONE, but Tesco have launched a new Custard Cream spread. Yes – the filling from a Custard Cream, for you to spread on toast.

The product has been on the shelves since August but came to mass attention when TV presenter Jamie East tweeted a picture of the spread, which quickly went viral.

Sure enough, Custard Cream spread is available for purchase on the Tesco website for the low price of £1.99. There is also a Bourbon Biscuit spread, but who would ever want that?

There’s no clear indication of what spurred the retailer to make this bold decision – a Facebook page entitled ‘They should make jars of Custard Cream filling to spread on toast’ has garnered only 12 likes.

Those in the know have already been experimenting with the spread:

Delectable.

It’s not yet known if Tesco are stocking the spread in their Irish stores, but you can bet your boots that we’ll keep you posted.

But here’s the real question – would you try Tesco’s Custard Cream spread?
